We survived Christmas

We did it. We survived our first Christmas with Kai. We had a good four days of visiting with family, which can be a lot for us grown ups never mind a little man. Kai did well. He got a bit overstimulated but it all turned out in the end.
We would like to say a big thanks to all of you who spoiled our little fella. He did very well this year. we are both looking forward to next year because Kai will be more involved.
Here is a run down of our holidays schedule-
Dec 23rd @ Grandmaman and Granddad's
Dec 24th @ Pat and Terry's (Simon's aunt and uncle)
Dec 25th @ Nan and Grandpa's
Dec 26 @ Helen and Matt's (Simon's cousins)

4 weeks old and lots of fun

Kai is officially 4 weeks old today. I cannot believe how fast the time has gone. It seems like just yesterday he was
coming home with us. I have trouble remembering life without him. Simon and I are both adapting better to less sleep now and are champs with the middle of the night diaper change.
Kai is now 11 lbs 4 1/2 oz. Needless to say some very cute outfits have been packed away, never worn. He is growing like a weed.
Next big step for the little man is Christmas. We are going to my parents on the 23rd and to Simon's on Christmas day in the afternoon. It will be interesting to see how Kai copes with all the new stimulation. He is more aware of what is going on now and does not sleep through everything anymore.
Merry Christmas to all and happy holidays.

2 weeks old and already a busy boy

We have survived our second week with the little man and it has been a busy one. Simon went back to work this week so Kai and I have been on our own. We have slowly developed an understanding. He needs lots of attention and I need to have a shower daily.

Things are better now that we have switched Kai's formula. (He did not tolerate the original formula. It was the cheaper brand.)

We had Kai weighed on Friday and he was 9 lbs 14 and 1/4 oz. He is growing like a weed.

On Sunday we celebrated St Nicolas Day with Opa and his aunties and uncle. It was a lot of fun even if the little man got a bit over stimulated. Nothing a mommy could not fix. Simon was great as the St Nick elf, handing out the gifts.

Every day is a new adventure with Kai. He is discovering his world and more importantly what he likes and dislikes. It is slowly getting easier to figure him out. I know that we will be okay because Kai has his Uncle Evan looking out for him.
